Our day: learning through faith, play and all five senses
We educate, empower and nurture young children as they grow socially, intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually, in a loving, fun and safe environment.
Our philosophy
The best early learning comes from developmentally appropriate practice, discovery and hands-on exploration. Every child is unique and learns in their own way, so activities are both teacher-directed and child-initiated, and adapted to each child’s abilities and needs.
Our desire is to create a joy for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Our mission
To promote, motivate and empower your child for life through enriched activities that support growth and development in every area.
Safety and quality are our priorities, every day. We welcome parents and family members to take part.
Curriculum
Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care
A research-based curriculum from Teaching Strategies that supports Maryland’s early learning standards. It guides nurturing, language-rich routines and meaningful experiences, and offers books and resources in English and Spanish.
Abeka Bible and reading
Bible time every morning after breakfast: Bible stories, songs, prayer and the pledge of allegiance. Our faith-based approach helps children practice kindness and good character.
Children work on early literacy, Bible, math, science, social studies, phonics, music and movement. They are observed and their progress is recorded so we can give extra help where it’s needed.

Multi-sensory learning centers
Interest areas are labeled with pictures and words, stocked on low shelves children can reach, and rotated so there is always something new to explore.
Dramatic play
Kitchen, grocery store, career dress-up, dolls and puppets for role play and empathy.
Blocks
Wooden, foam, sensory and alphabet blocks for building, problem solving and early engineering.
Science
Magnifying glasses, leaves, shells, stones and animals for exploring the natural world.
Sensory and water play
Textures, colors and weights that engage all five senses and spark conversation.
Art and crafts
Cutting, coloring, drawing and painting to express ideas and build fine motor skills.
Manipulatives
Puzzles, lacing, counting bears and builders for hand-eye coordination and patterns.
Learning corner
Letters, numbers, shapes and matching games that reinforce each day’s lessons.
Music and movement
Songs, instruments and movement for language, listening and coordination.
Indoor and outdoor play
Daily gross motor play, inside and out, for strong, healthy bodies.

Healthy meals
We follow USDA guidelines for childcare in Maryland and serve breakfast and an afternoon snack with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, milk and protein. Children practice table manners and feeding themselves with adult help, and we send home healthy-eating tips for families.
Reading and Spanish
Teaching young children to read is Mrs. McLennon’s passion. Our library of English and Spanish books builds vocabulary, comprehension and a love of reading, and Spanish is offered as an extra-curricular activity.
